Introduction of Future Village | ||||
| Introduction Our Target How to help? Facilities How to get there? |
Future Village, a two-storey cottage with local architectural style, is located in a hillock with an altitude over 1000 meters in Katunge Village Ward 9 in Dhading District, stretching 100 kilometers away from the capital, north of Kathmandu in Nepal. The Village was founded in mid 2004 by a group of enthusiastic visitors from Hong Kong, who raised fund to build the cottage. The project idea originated from a Nepal expression: “N-Never, E-Ends, P-Peace, A-And, L-Love”. We hope that visitors can serve this "Kingdom of Mountain" while they are exploring the wonders of landscape and meaning of life during their trip. We are more than happy
if you would like to make a difference in your trip by visiting Future
Village to help the locals. |

| Facilities of Future Village | |||||
The mini-library on the ground floor is meant for children to study and attend English classes. Solar panels had been installed since 2006. Hence lights and electricity may be available on sunny days. The Village can accommodate around 10 visitors (some visitors may sleep on the floor). We recommend minimum two visitors to stay in Future Village. Visitors are advise to spend at least six days for the visit as travelling takes time. Please take note that all the local people who are involved in the project (such as cooks, local guide) are all on voluntary basis. We hope all the visitors will respect them and treat them kindly. We will reserve the right to reject any visitor who fails to do so. To help save the environment, visitors are encouraged to treasure the resources, reduce waste and take non-biodegradable waste, such as plastic and batteries home for recycling. This is because the district is limited in resources. The villagers are incapable of managing waste; they usually burn the waste. For more information,
kindly click on the notice for visitors. |

| How to get there? | |||||
Instead of walking for 5 hours to the Village, there may be local jeep service in the dry season. It takes about 2 hrs to the village. As Future Village is not a tourist spot, most villagers are non-English-speakers. To visit Future Village, please contact Christie Lam (your_laiming@yahoo.com) for transportation and route arrangement. Two modes of transportation
